Front Brake Upgrade to 6 Piston Brembo
Things you need to know to upgrade to 380mm Discs with 6 Piston Brembo Type Calipers as fitted to Range Rover L405 & L494 models
Most importantly, unlike upgrading Discovery 3 TDV6 to V8 size, this upgrade was never recognised by JLR and therefore you do this at your own risk, we are often asked for this kit so are listing it to be helpful, we are told it makes a massive difference to brake performance but have not tried it ourselves (yet). For this one you may need to inform your insurance provider of the modification but they may well be of the opinion it is a safety enhancement.
When fitted to a Discovery 3, 4 or first generation Range Rover Sport you will need a minimum wheel size of 20"
The original dust shields need discarding, these are not essential and would not fit with the massive 380mm Discs.
The items shown below are then required, choose from Red or plain metal finish calipers (The plain require less image maintenance but are of course less "showy" )
The caliper pin kit is not required on first purchase as they come with the calipers.
